Carmichael Ford Rookies is TBI’s introduction to the game of basketball.

Rookies is designed for kids aged between and including, 4 years old to 12 years old, who are looking to try basketball. This program provides both fundamental skill development and explanation of the game through fun drills, modified and exciting game play. 

In Term 1 and Term 3, Mini Hoops is also available for beginners aged 8- 12 years, keen to try their hand at Basketball. Coaches are on court with the players to stop the game when a teaching point is valid, so the participants learn the rules and develop game sense and skill set through these modified games. This program is designed to extend and prepare the older kids looking to join a competitive team in that next season.

The Carmichael Ford Rookies program is run by elite coaches and players with experiences ranging from NBL1, Junior Australian Representative, State Level Representative and Townsville Representative levels. Our accredited coaches ensure that all participants are maximising their opportunity in our program. 

Sessions on Saturday mornings from 8.00am to 9.00am for 8 weeks of the school term.

Participant cost for Rookies and Mini Hoops is $90.00 per term.

Basketball Queensland charges an insurance fee of $7.44 per term payable at registration.

A Carmichael Ford Rookies pack is available to purchase for $30.00 during the registration process. This pack includes their own Rookies reversible singlet, drink bottle and Size 5 basketball.
